As you might expect, the NBA’s 2012-13 schedule is packed with plenty of action, beginning with the opening date, which features three exciting games. First, reining NBA Champions, the Miami Heat, will open the season at their home arena on October 30th against the Boston Celtics as part of the NBA opening-night tripleheader.
Also on opening night, Washington Wizards visit the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Dallas Mavericks will meet the Lakers in Los Angeles. Thousands of fans will have their eyes fixed on this game, and the reason has a well known name: Steve Nash. The former Phoenix Sun point guard and Two-time NBA MVP will make his debut as the new Lakers’ acquisition. Nash, a hardcore soccer fan, chose No. 10 to pay homage to legendary players Glenn Hoddle, Zinedine Zidane and other soccer stars who wore the number.
Jeremy Lin's new era with the Houston Rockets starts on the road against the Pistons on Halloween Night. Fans and bettors will have their eyes fixed on the Rockets offensive now that Linsanity has left New York.
The recently relocated Brooklyn Nets will open the season on November 1st at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center against their new town rival, the New York Knicks. Meanwhile, NBA finalist Oklahoma City will kick off the season that same night, playing at San Antonio in a Western Conference finals rematch.
NBA fans and bettors will also enjoy two NBA Finals rematches. First, the Oklahoma Thunder will visit the Heat as part of a five-game slate on Christmas Day, and then the Heat will head to Oklahoma City on Valentine’s Day
According to the official schedule, the All-Star Game will be held in Houston on Feb. 17th, while the NBA regular season will close on April 17.
